Manhattan Beach is a classic surf city on the Southern California coast, which is known for having some of the most consistent waves on the West Coast. One of the most interesting things about this city is the fact that it used to be sand dunes. In the twenties and thirties, the city was leveled out in order to make a flat surface and some of the sand was actually sold to Waikiki, which used the sand for their resorts.
